Clinic Description

 

Head Coach, Leslie Wray and Assistant coach Steve Campbell would like to invite you to the UMBC Summer ID Clinic.

The clinic is designed for committed and dedicated players aspiring to become future UMBC Retriever soccer players; and to educate players on the demands and expectations of being a Division I student-athlete.

The clinic will provide a dynamic, strength and stability warmup, technical-tactical training session, goalkeeper training and a full-sided game conducted by the UMBC coaching staff. Players will also gain insight on NCAA rules and procedures through a college recruiting seminar, and learn more about the UMBC women's soccer program and university as a student-athlete (Academic, Athletic and Social balance).

(Lunch and a UMBC Under Armor T-shirt is included). Clinic is open to any and all entrants grades 8th and up.

What to bring
Please remember to pack a soccer ball, soccer shoes, shin guards, casual shoes, indoor shoes or tennis shoes (in case of inclement weather), flip flops, an extra pair of socks, sunscreen and warm-up/rain suit if necessary. Please clearly label your personal items.

Facilities
The Retriever Soccer Park is one of the top playing surfaces amongst America East Conference schools as it boasts a Bermuda grass playing surface and state-of-the-art drainage and irrigation system. The stadium was completed in the fall of 1998 and included a 120-yard by 70-yard field, press box, automated electronic scoreboard display, and concessions area. Since then, permanent bleachers have been added to seat 1,500 spectators as well as the Bermuda grass and irrigation system installations, which were completed in the fall of 2006. Parking for soccer games is available in nearby Lot 17, which can accomodate 900 vehicles.

Certified athletic trainers will be on-site for all Camps.

What if I have to cancel a Clinic?
We do not offer refunds on canceled campers, but we do have what is called "Cancellation Protection". We offer basic Cancellation Protection to allow participants some peace of mind in case plans change. This allows us to keep our prices low and provide the best service possible. Due at the time of registration, Cancellation Protection entitles you to a full refund of camp fees should you cancel your registration more than 14 days prior to the start of a day camp. If you cancel within 14 days of the start of your session, we will give you a 50% refund for all money paid.
