At The Viking Basketball School For Boys We Emphasize
Teaching the fundamentals of the game of basketball as part of an effort to turn every child into the best player they can be.
Instilling certain characteristics into each of our attendees including, but not limited to: commitment, hard work, teamwork, selflessness, respect, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship.
Having fun and being willing to learn every time we step onto the basketball court.

CAMP DIRECTORS

 

Chris Harvey
Harvey just finished his 10th season as the head coach of Salem State University, guiding the Vikings to a 17-11 record and won MASCAC Tournament Championship and went to NCAA Tournament. In just 15 seasons as a collegiate head coach, Harvey has amassed over 250 victories at Salem State and Lasell, earning multiple conference coach of the year honors amongst many other accolades. Harvey's Salem State teams have won 5 regular season MASCAC titles, 3 conference tournament championships, and 3 NCAA Tournament appearances highlighted by a Sweet 16 appearance in 2009.

 

Brian Caira
Caira joined the Salem State University staff prior to the 2015-2016 season, after serving as Stoneham High School's Head Boys' Basketball Coach for two seasons. In his first season at the helm at Stoneham High, Caira led the Spartans to their first appearance in the Division 3 North Final in 42 seasons. At Salem State, Caira has assisted in all aspects of the game including, but not limited to game management, player development, and recruiting.

 

Tim McCarthy
McCarthy joined the Salem State University in 2016 after finishing a successful four year career at nearby Framingham State. A resident of Wilmington, MA McCarthy brings an ability to teach all aspects of guard play including shooting, footwork, catching and using the dribble to improve over all skill.

Miscellaneous Information

Refund Policy
We do not offer refunds on cancelled campers, just a future camp credit if you decide to cancel, but we do have what is called "Cancellation Protection". We offer basic Cancellation Protection to allow participants some peace of mind in case plans change. This allows us to keep our prices low and provide the best service possible. Due at the time of registration, Cancellation Protection entitles you to a full refund of camp fees should you cancel your registration more than 14 days prior to the start of an overnight camp, and 7 days prior to the start of a day camp. If you cancel within 14 or 7 days of the start of your session, we will give you a camp credit for all money paid. The credit is valid for three years from camp date at any of our camps. Credit with insurance is transferable to family members or friends, and good toward a future camp.

 

Please check your email regularly as this is our primary way we communicate. Any additional information that we need to convey as the camp draws closer will be passed on to you via the e-mail address that you supplied when you signed up for camp. Please make it a habit to check your e-mail daily, this will eliminate any confusion and or miscommunication.
