Marymount Swim School in Arlington, Virginia are dedicated to providing a swim camp that is both instructional and informational along with creating a great atmosphere to learn!

 

The coaching staff here at Marymount University prides itself on teaching the sport of swimming to athletes of all ages and ability levels. The mechanics and drills that are taught at our camp are used with our college athletes. We are determined to provide the best possible learning experience for our campers.

Head Coach, Michael Clark
The Marymount University Swim Camp is directed by Marymount University Head Swimming Coach Michael Clark, an ASCA Level 4 certified coach. Coach Clark is entering his 23nd year as the Head Men's and Women's Swimming Coach at Marymount University. Under his guidance, Marymount swimmers have won numerous conference championships. Coach Clark has been recognized as Conference Coach of the year four times. Additionally, Coach Clark has coached for several USS teams, and is currently as the Head Coach of the Clark Swim Club, as well as summer league teams from the NVSL, DCCL, and the CCSDA. A national qualifier in the breaststroke, Mike is widely recognized for his understanding of stroke technique and his ability to work with children of all ages and abilities.

The swimmers are coached by coaching staff at Marymount University as well as members of the Marymount University Men's and Women's Swim Team. All the coaches have college swimming experience as well as summer league coaching experience.

 

Facility: The Swim Camp meets at the Rose Bente Lee Center Swimming Pool on the main campus of Marymount University. The pool is a 25 yard indoor heated pool, with locker room facilities.

 

Additional Information
Parents may remain in the pool area and watch from the spectator seating area.
We reserve the option to cancel that camp if less than 10 participants are registered.

Each station builds upon the skills learned at previous stations. Aquatic safety is emphasized at all levels of instruction. All of our instructors are SwimAmerica trained.

 

Children (5 & UP)
Our children's program features our 10 level curriculum for children aged 6 - 12 years old. Your child will be placed in a level based on their ability, and moves at their own pace through our curriculum. Each level is broken down into easy to achieve skills so that your child will constantly be receiving positive reinforcement as they learn to swim.

Facility
All classes are held at the Rose Bente Lee Aquatic Center. The Rose Bente Lee Aquatic Center is a heated indoor, 25 yard pool. Locker rooms are available for swim class participant. Parents are encouraged to wait in the Lee Center lower lounge while classes are being conducted. The Rose Bente Lee Center is located on the main campus of Marymount University at the intersection of N. Glebe Road and Old Dominion Blvd in Arlington, VA.

 

Makeup Class Policy: Classes are only made up when they are cancelled by the Marymount Swim School staff. No full or partial refunds will be given for missed classes.

 

Refund Policy: It is our goal to make our swimming lessons available to as many students as we can. However, to maintain safety and quality interaction between students and instructors, we limit our enrollment. Therefore, we close enrollment when our classes are full. Dropping out of a class within one week prevents us from being able to provide swimming instruction to students who might otherwise have been able to register for a class.

 

Full refunds are given when requested earlier than seven (7) days from the start of the class. No refunds are given within seven (7) days of class.

All classes are held at the Rose Bente Lee Aquatic Center. The Rose Bente Lee Aquatic Center is a heated indoor, 25 yard pool. Locker rooms are available for swim class participant. Parents are encouraged to wait in the Lee Center lower lounge while classes are being conducted. The Rose Bente Lee Center is located on the main campus of Marymount University at the intersection of N. Glebe Road and Old Dominion Blvd in Arlington, VA.

 

Makeup Class Policy: Classes are only made up when they are cancelled by the Marymount Swim School staff. No full or partial refunds will be given for missed classes.

 

Refund Policy: It is our goal to make our swimming lessons available to as many students as we can. However, to maintain safety and quality interaction between students and instructors, we limit our enrollment. Therefore, we close enrollment when our classes are full. Dropping out of a class within one week prevents us from being able to provide swimming instruction to students who might otherwise have been able to register for a class.

Developmental Swim Program
The Marymount University Developmental Swim Program is a one day per week program designed to help participants ages 6-12 improve their competitive swimming skills. Participants will learn swimming stroke technique, turning technique and starting technique in small groups from experienced swimming instructors.

 

Clark Swim Club
The Clark Swim Club is a member of USA-Swimming, providing year round competitive swimming and water polo opportunities to children ranging ages from 6-18, skill levels range from novice swimmer to national level competitior.

Facility:
All classes are held at the Rose Bente Lee Aquatic Center. The Rose Bente Lee Aquatic Center is a heated indoor, 25 yard pool. Locker rooms are available for swim class participant. Parents are encouraged to wait in the Lee Center lower lounge while classes are being conducted. The Rose Bente Lee Center is located on the main campus of Marymount University at the intersection of N. Glebe Road and Old Dominion Blvd in Arlington, VA.

 

Makeup Class Policy:
Classes are only made up when they are cancelled by the Marymount Swim School staff. No full or partial refunds will be given for missed classes.

 

Refund Policy:It is our goal to make our swimming lessons available to as many students as we can. However, to maintain safety and quality interaction between students and instructors, we limit our enrollment. Therefore, we close enrollment when our classes are full. Dropping out of a class within one week prevents us from being able to provide swimming instruction to students who might otherwise have been able to register for a class.

Full refunds are given when requested earlier than seven (7) days from the start of the class. No refunds are given within seven (7) days of class.

The Marymount Aquatics Program
The Marymount University Aquatics Program is a first steps to last steps aquatic program, providing swimming opportunities to all ages and abilities. In addition to the Swim School, the Aquatics Program includes the following programs

 

Developmental Swim Program
The Marymount University Developmental Swim Program is a one day per week program designed to help participants ages 6-12 improve their competitive swimming skills. Participants will learn swimming stroke technique, turning technique and starting technique in small groups from experienced swimming instructors.

 

Clark Swim Club
The Clark Swim Club is a member of USA-Swimming, providing year round competitive swimming and water polo opportunities to children ranging ages from 6-18, skill levels range from novice swimmer to national level competitior.

Camp Description

The Marymount Swim School is a SwimAmerica based learn to swim program. It is a goal driven, technique oriented learn to swim program that is organized into ten stations. Each station builds upon the skills learned at previous stations. Aquatic safety is emphasized at all levels of instruction. All of our instructors are SwimAmerica trained.

Children (5 & UP)
Our children's program features our 10 level curriculum for children aged 6 - 12 years old. Your child will be placed in a level based on their ability, and moves at their own pace through our curriculum.
