In the spring of 1996, ground was broken for the construction of a new multi-sport facility, and in July 1997, the complex, the Gillom Sports Center, ushered in a new era in women's athletics at Ole Miss. Read More
A winner on every level of coaching, Steven McRoberts was hired on Jan. 16, 2014, to take Ole Miss volleyball to the top of the SEC and make it relevant on the national stage.
It’s safe to say, the Rebels are well on their way. McRoberts inherited a team that in the two years prior posted a 26-34 overall record and finished at the bottom of the SEC standings. The Rebels have posted four consecutive winning seasons for the first time in three decades, won 12 regular season tournament titles, set numerous team and individual records, and players have earned All-America, All-Region and All-SEC honors.
A historic season capped McRoberts fourth year at the helm, as the Rebels captured the NIVC Championship and set numerous team and individual records. A few close five-set losses in conference play ended the Rebels NCAA Tournament chances, but they took advantage of their opportunity to play in the first NIVC Tournament since the mid 90s. Led by the senior duo of Kate Gibson and Lexi Thompson and NIVC tournament MVP Emily Stroup, the Rebels won six in a row to end the season, including five straight on their way to the NIVC title. They only dropped one set in all five postseason matches played at the newly-renovated Gillom Athletics Performance Center.
Associate Head Coach
Ronaldo Pacheco is in his third year as a member of the Ole Miss volleyball program and was promoted to associate head coach in January of 2017.
Pacheco has helped the Rebels to three straight winning seasons for the first time in three decades. The Rebels have won 10 regular season tournament titles and set several team and individual records during the three years.
In 2016, the Rebels won three tournament titles and posted a third consecutive winning season, while sestting a record for most digs in a season and ranking second in the SEC in digs per set.
Texas native Tori Plugge joined the Ole Miss volleyball staff as assistant coach/recruiting coordinator in January of 2017.
Prior to coming to Ole Miss, Plugge spent the previous two seasons as an assistant coach at Arkansas State where she coached the outside hitters and handled the day-to-day operations of the office and travel as well as assisted in recruiting and scouting.
During her first year in 2015, Plugge helped the team to a 28-2 record, a perfect 16-0 mark in Sunbelt Conference play, a conference tournament championship and its first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 1999. This past season, Arkansas State finished 25-8, 15-1 in SBC play, and advanced to the conference tournament championship match for the second year in a row.
Director of Operations
Ole Miss volleyball head coach Steven McRoberts completed his staff with the addition of Damaris Linker as the program’s director of operations.
“We are very excited to have Damaris join our program,” McRoberts said. “Everyone I talked to echoed how Damaris is a person of high character and they all raved about how well she does her job.”
Linker spent the past two seasons as the volleyball director of operations at Ohio University under head coach Dane Webb.
