Ole Miss Rebelettes Camps and Clinics

The Rebelettes are the official dance team at the University of Mississippi. The Rebelettes are proud to be a part of Ole Miss Athletics and the Pride of the South Marching Band. Under the support of these two departments, the Rebelettes not only bring enthusiasm, entertainment, and spirit on game day, but the Rebelettes serve as ambassadors for Athletics and the University through appearances, fan interaction, and community service.

Rebelette Tryout College Prep Clinic I

Our Tryout Prep Clinics are geared toward dancers interested in auditioning for the Ole Miss Rebelettes or other college programs in the future.

 

During the tryout prep clinic, we will cover all aspects to be evaluated at tryouts including technique, fight song, jazz and hip hop combos, interviews, and appearance. We will host a Q&A session to answer questions about the tryout process and Rebelette program as well as provide feedback to participants.

 

Dancers will learn Fight Song as it will be evaluated at tryouts, so this is a great advantage going into tryout week. Clinics are not required, but highly recommended.

 

General Information 

Cost: $50.00

Note:  Walk up registrants on DAY OF camp will pay $60.00

 

What to bring
Snacks for our short breaks throughout the day.

Comfortable dance clothes
Jazz/dance shoes, sneakers if you prefer for hip hop. Please no boots as they will mark up the floor. 
Completed Medical Release Waiver 
If you have participated in any of our camps or clinics during the 2016-2017 season, you do not have to resubmit the MR Waiver.

What if I have to cancel a camp? 
We do not offer refunds on cancelled campers, just a future camp credit if you decide to cancel, but we do have what is called "Cancellation Protection".
We offer basic Cancellation Protection to allow participants some peace of mind in case plans change. This allows us to keep our prices low and provide the best service possible. Due at the time of registration, Cancellation Protection entitles you to a full refund of camp fees should you cancel your registration more than 14 days prior to the start of an overnight camp, and 7 days prior to the start of a day camp. If you cancel within 14 or 7 days of the start of your session, we will give you a camp credit for all money paid. The credit is valid for three years from camp date.
Credit with insurance is transferable to family members or friends, and good toward a future camp.

Rebelette Audition Weekend

Audition Requirements

  • Incoming freshman and transfer students must be accepted to Ole Miss before the first day of auditions (submit copy of acceptance letter with application)
  • All applicants must have a cumulative and current GPA of 2.0 or above (submit copy of official or unofficial transcript with application)
  • 2018-2019 members must maintain full time student status (12+ undergraduate hours/semester)
  • Applicants must attend ONE college prep clinic: 27th, Feb. 10th, March 24th, April 14th prior to auditioning
  • Audition Attire: The following colors are encouraged to be worn at auditions- Blue, Red, White, Grey, Black
    • Hot Shorts (sweat pants/joggers may be worn during hip hop only)
    • Sports Bra/Supportive Bra Top
    • Tan Jazz Shoes (tennis shoes may be worn during hip hop and fitness test only)
    • Hair all the way down
    • Hair can be curled or straight
    • Gameday makeup
    • Red lipstick/lip liner

                                 

  • Submit the following 7 documents, in order, to be officially registered for auditions (please pay registration fee online)
    1. Head shot attached to front of application packet (pics non-returnable)
    2. Completed Application (pages 4-8)
    3. Proof of acceptance to Ole Miss and Current/Cumulative GPA (Acceptance Letter/unofficial Transcript)
    4. Final Judgment Policy (Signed by both participant and parent)
      • Current Rebelettes will NOT need a parent signature
  1. Copy of Insurance card (front and back)
  2. Consent and Medical Release forms
  •  Parent signature if under the age of 18
  1. 2 letters of recommendation (submitted in a sealed and signed envelope)

 

Cost:

  • Early registration fee: $40 (non-refundable) on or before April 18th, 2018
  • Late/Walk in registration fee: $50 (non-refundable) after April 18th, 2018

Preliminary Round

Participants will be evaluated on the following criteria: Fight Song, Jazz Dance, and Physical Fitness Test

Semifinalists will be announced following the conclusion of the Preliminary Round
