Utica College Soccer Field

Recently renovated, the Utica College Soccer Field is home to the UC men's and women's soccer programs and features European style goals. The all-grass surface had been updated with new drainage system more suitable for northeast climates.

Brian Marcantonio

Head Mens Soccer Coach

Head Coach Brian Marcantonio was hired in the winter of 2014 by Athletic Director David Fontaine to be the mens soccer coach. In 2016 he was also named co-coach of the mens and newly created womens golf team along with Dave Clausen.

This past season, the Pioneers went 2-13-1 overall and 1-5-1 in the Empire 8 Conference. Marcantonio guided three players to All-Conference distinction including second team selections Owen Gillam and Bita Gazashvili, as well as Sportsman of the Year, Marcel Dupuis. Three players were also named to the Empire 8 Presidents List with a GPA of 3.75 or higher.

In 2015, Marcantonio guided UC to a 5-13 overall record with a 1-6 conference record. He guided Shane Ruffing and Jordan Senay to All-Conference honors. Ruffing received his second straight All-Conference First Team status. Ruffing finished his senior year the schools all-time leading point scorer (78) and all-time leading goal scorer (33). He led the team in points (26), goals (11), and was second in assists (4). Senay was chosen as Uticas Representative on the Sportsman of the Year team after playing in 17 games and starting in six. He finished the season tied for fifth in points (4) on the team off of one goal and two assists. Off the field Marcantonio had five athletes on the Empire 8 All-Academic team.


Matthew Guinto

Assistant Mens Soccer Coach

Matthew Guinto was hired in the Summer of 2017 as an athletic assistant for the Utica College mens soccer program. Guinto will be responsible for assisting Head Coach Brian Marcantonio with all facets of the program.

Guintos most recent head coaching experience includes stints with the Greater Binghamton FC 02 Select Boys and the BC United Energy 00-03 Girls. During his time with the Greater Binghamton FC he guided his team to the 2017 FC Delco Championship as well as a semifinal appearance at the 2017 Disney Wide World of Sports Presidents Day Cup.

Guinto is a USSF National D-Licensed Coach as well as a NSCAA Level 6 Licensed Coach. He also has his Level 1 Goalkeeper license through the NSCAA.
