James Goss, associate track and field coach at Lynchburg College for six seasons, was named head coach for mens and womens track and field and cross country at Nazareth in 2011.
A native of Skaneateles, N.Y., Goss has engineered steady improvement in his first three seasons as coach. His mens and womens track and field teams have broken 53 school records (combining both indoor and outdoor performances).
He has coached two state titlists and 10 Empire 8 titlists in mens track and field and seven state champions and 15 E8 champions in womens track and field. He also helped guide Taylor Pierson to record-shattering distances in the long jump as she became Nazareths first-ever outdoor track and field All-American in 2013, an honor she duplicated indoors in 2014.
Before joining the staff at Nazareth, Goss excelled at Lynchburg, where he was at the forefront for many of the Hornets recent track and field successes. In 2011, the Hornets sent three athletes to the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships. In addition, both the mens and womens teams captured their respective team titles at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships and were ranked near the top of the southeast region.
Tim Giagios joined the Nazareth coaching staff for 2012 as a part-time assistant for mens and womens track and field. He also serves as the Golden Flyers strength and conditioning coach.
Giagios is a 2005 graduate of Buffalo State with a degree in Health and Wellness and concentration in Adult Fitness. As a member of the track and field team, Giagios served as team captain and was the 2004 SUNYAC titlist in the 500-meter dash. He also earned SUNYAC and NYSCTC all-conference honors three times each.
Giagios coaching experience includes three seasons as an assistant coach at Brockport and three seasons as an assistant at Gates Chili High School.
