Description

The Wildcat Girls Basketball Camp will cover a wide variety of fundamental skills daily. Footwork, Ball Handling, Shooting and Passing, along with proper Defensive Technique. Each day there are contests to see who is the best in the Camp on two levels, the younger group, and the older group. The contests are: Free Throw Shooting, 3 Pt Shooting, Hot Shot, Ball Handling and Knockout competitions. All campers will be placed on equally divided teams at both levels, play games everyday and compete for the Camp Team Championship. This is a great opportunity to play with some of the girls you always compete against, and now you get to play with them as a team member. Coach Saia and her staff of current high school and college players are dedicated to providing a fun and competitive environment at camp

 

Meet the Coach: Ashley Saia

Ashley Saia just finished her second season as the Varsity Womens Basketball Head Coach at Marin Catholic.  Capping the 2019 regular season, the LadyCats pulled off a come-from-behind victory in the MCAL Championship, earning Saia her first championship pennant at Marin Catholic.

 

Ashley spent six years in various roles at the collegiate level beginning at Cal as an Operations Intern for the Womens Basketball team followed by an assistant coaching job at Gannon University helping them to an Elite 8 appearance.  Her last 4 years at the college level were spent at Miami (OH) University as a Director of Operations & Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator.  Ashley is a 2006 graduate of Marin Catholic (2-time All-League, 1st Team & 2nd Team) and then played at Bentley University from 2006-2011.  Ashley is focused on creating a team-first environment where her players can learn and excel on & off the court.

The Wildcat Baseball Camp will cover a wide variety of skills designed to make each camper a more well rounded baseball player. The morning hours of camp are spent covering fundamentals such as how to properly warm up, proper throwing mechanics, as well as both offensive and defensive skills. After lunch, campers will be broken into teams and the scrimmages will begin. Campers will then have the opportunity to showcase the skills they have learned during the morning session. Coach Foppert and his staff of current high school and college players are dedicated to providing a fun and competitive environment at camp. This is a very popular camp and will be capped at 72 participants so sign up early!

 

Meet The Coach

Drafted as a pitcher by the San Francisco Giants (from the University of San Francisco) in the 2nd round of the 2001 draft, Jesse made his MLB debut on April 14, 2003. Rated by Baseball America as the best pitching prospect in 2003, Foppert broke into the Giants starting rotation in 2003 and was traded in 2005 to the Mariners along with Yorvit Torrealba for Randy Winn.

Jesse returns as Head Coach for the Marin Catholic Varsity Baseball team for his seventh season where he has led the Wildcats to two MCAL Championships and six NCS Division II appearances. For Foppert, a two time all-MCAL baseball player, a USF infielder and Major League Baseball pitcher, helping kids succeed on and off the field is what its all about. Teaching lessons through baseball, like hard work, dedication, teamwork and attitude, coach Foppert knows first-hand how these fundamentals will serve them for life.

Open to girls of all skill levels. The camp will focus on developing individual skills. Whether learning the game as a beginner or wanting to improve skills, this camp will offer an outstanding opportunity to learn the fundamentals of team play while continuing to develop individual skills.

 

Meet The Coach

Jake Spain is going into his eighth season as the Varsity Volleyball Head Coach at Marin Catholic. In his first seven seasons the Wildcats have compiled a record of 202-56 along with 5 straight NCS championships and back to back to back MCAL championships. In 2016 Marin Catholic clinched their first regular season and playoff MCAL championship for the first time since 2000. . Following the most decorated season in school history, the Wildcats completed another stellar season finishing 37-5, ranked #1 in the state in their division. Jake started his coaching career at Petaluma High School, winning the regular season and NCS title for the first time in school history. In 2010 and 2011, Jake joined Redwood High School, again winning a regular season title and a NCS championship.

Description 

Welcome to the inaugural Next Level Flag Football & Skills Camp in at Marin Catholic High School! The camp will run from July 9th to July 12th and is open to players from 1st grade to 9th grade. Next Level Football Camp teaches sound fundamental offensive and defensive football skills to both experienced and beginner youth athletes. Individual and group drills will be demonstrated to teach basic techniques. Proper warm-up, physical conditioning, skills drills and review are part of each scheduled session. Coach Moayed, assisted by his staff and select current & former players will be your coaches. The focus is on fun, fundamental skills and safety during this four day camp.

 

Meet The Coach

Mazi Moayed is the Head Football Coach at Marin Catholic. He has led the Wildcats to eight undefeated MCAL Championships, three North Coast Section Championships and a trip to the State Championship Bowl Game in 2012. Coach Moayed was named Northern California Division III Coach of the Year by NorCal Preps in 2012. Prior to joining Marin Catholic, he coached at Novato High School, Berkeley High School, San Rafael High School, and College of Marin. As a player, he started as safety for the Semi-Pro North Bay Rattlers, who were undefeated for the 4 years he played. Coach Moayed is known throughout our area as a leader in teaching his players the fundamentals of the game while instilling in them what it takes to compete on and off the field.

The Wildcat Boys Basketball Camp offers a complete overview of the game of basketball. Guided by Marin Catholic's Mens Varsity Coach, Mike Saia, the staff is comprised of current coaches, players, and Marin Catholic Alumni. The camp will introduce fundamentals, offensive and defensive concepts, and have games daily. The 4-day camp offers a great balance of instruction, competition, hard work, and fun!

 

Meet The Coach

Mike Saia is in his ninth season as the Varsity Mens Basketball Head Coach at Marin Catholic, winning more than 100 games in his first 5 seasons. In 2017, Coach Saia led his Wildcats to a regular season and playoff MCAL championship for the first time since 2005. Mike is a graduate of Drake High School (2-time 1st Team All-League). He played one year at College of Marin, and three years at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

 

Coach Saia has developed a basketball philosophy from years of playing, coaching, and officiating. Mike was a NCAA Division I basketball official from 1991-1999, finishing his career with two trips to the NCAA tournament. Utilizing the whole child approach to coaching, Mike provides life lessons through the sport of basketball and shares his enthusiasm for the game.

Meet The Coaches: Andrew Shuter

Andrew Shuter grew up in England where he played for Northampton Town as a youth. Moving to the States at the age of 11, he then played for Novato Youth Soccer until he was 18. Andrew played at College of Marin for a season before deciding to become a coach. He has coached for North Marin United, Novato High School, and is the Head Coach at Marin Catholic High School for the Mens Varsity team. He had his USSF E and his NSCAA National Diploma.

Andrew completed his second year as Head Coach of the Womens Varsity Soccer team, qualifying for the North Coast Section players.

 

Meet The Coaches: Jasper Garcia

Jasper Garcia grew up playing youth soccer in San Francisco and competed competitively throughout California. Garcia has been coaching for 10 years throughout the SF Bay Area and he is returning as Head Coach for the Marin Catholic Mens Varsity Soccer team for his third season. In his first season as head of the program, Jasper lead his team to the first league playoff appearance in 5 years, finishing second place in the MCAL. Jaspers focus is in helping student-athletes learn life long skills through the sport of soccer that will help them succeed on and off the pitch.
