Get to know LVC Women's Soccer Coach Todd Hoffard
Todd Hoffard was introduced as the fourth head coach in Lebanon Valley College womens soccer history on Dec. 2, 2014.
A Lancaster County native, Hoffard is also the goalkeeping coach for the United States Womens U20 and U14 teams. He possesses playing and coaching experience at virtually every level of the game, from youth development to the professional ranks.
A sought-after goalkeeping clinician, Hoffard also coordinates all US Soccer training centers in the Eastern Pennsylvania region. He spent two seasons as the goalkeeping coach for Major League Soccers New York Red Bulls, including an assignment with the 2011 MLS All-Stars when they played Manchester United at Red Bull Arena. During his tenure in New York, he took part in two MLS playoff seasons, and saw the Red Bulls win the Emirates Cup in London against Paris St. Germain, Boca Juniors, and Arsenal.
Hoffard has trained many pros including current Red Bulls goalkeeper Luis Robles, Germany international Frank Rost, and former Colombia and Galatasaray keeper Faryd Mondragon. Closer to home, Hoffard has worked with the Pennsylvania Roar of the MISL and Harrisburg City Islanders of the USL II.
Charlie Grimes completed his ninth season as head coach of the Lebanon Valley College mens soccer team in 2013, making the Commonwealth Conference Tournament and advancing all the way to the ECAC Finals a year ago
The team finished with an overall mark of 11-8-4, while James Clements, Cam Alexander, and Kyle Fronk were Second Team All-Conference selections. Alexander also earned a selection to the NSCAA All-Region Third Team.
Grimes eighth season was a successful one, as LVC finished 14-6-2 and qualified for the Commonwealth Conference and ECAC tournaments. The Dutchmen took a step forward from the success they had in 2011 by reaching the CC finals before ultimately being eliminated at Messiah. They hosted the ECAC quarterfinal match against Neumann and won.
Three players were named all-conference, including Cam Alexander, who took home Rookie of the Year honors. Additionally, Alexander and Kelly Hess were both named NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic and ECAC South All-Stars, and the team was named an NSCAA Team Academic Award winner.
