Courtney Vernon

Head Coach


Courtney Vernon recently completed her fourth season with the Green and Blue after being appointed the head coach of the FGCU women’s tennis program by Director of Athletics Ken Kavanagh on Sept. 16, 2013.


During her four-year tenure, Vernon has taken the program to new heights, having led the team to its first ASUN Regular Season Championship and winningest season in program history in 2016-17. Following another run to the ASUN Championship Final that came up just short against UNF, Vernon has taken the Eagles to three straight ASUN Championship final matches.


Vernon has guided the Green and Blue to a 51-34 overall record and 21-5 mark in conference play during her time at FGCU. Additionally, she has not only been named the ASUN Coach of the Year in each of the last two seasons, but was also named the 2017 USPTA Florida Division College Coach of the Year. Vernon has also mentored her student-athletes into earning a total of 43 ASUN All-Conference and All-Academic honors, including the 2014, 2016 and 2017 ASUN Freshman of the Year as well as the 2016 and 2017 Scholar-Athlete of the Year.




Alexandra Landert

Assistant Coach


A former player at FGCU, Alexandra Landert has joined the coaching staff at FGCU for the 2017-18 season. Landert played two seasons in Southwest Florida and is now finishing her Master’s Degree in International Business from Durham University in Durham, United Kingdom.


Landert compiled 12 wins in her abbreviated career at FGCU.
