Erin Blocker

Camp Coach

2015 marks Coach Erins Sixth year as the ESU Hornets Pole Vault Coach. In her six years at Emporia State, the vault crew has set 8 school records, claimed 2 NCAA All-American honors, 1 MIAA Conference Championship title, and 5 All-Conference performances.

Coach Erin also works with the multi event athletes in the pole vault and has had the honor of helping develop 2 All-American decathletes, as well as national qualifiers and multiple All-MIAA performers.

Prior to coaching at Emporia, Erin was the vertical jumps coach at Culver-Stockton College (07-09) and Santa Barbara City College (05-07).

Steve Blocker

Camp Coach

Steven Blocker has been selected to succeed Dave Harris as the head coach of the Hornet track and field programs..

Blocker has served as an assistant with the Hornets since 2009 working primarily with the sprinters, jumpers and multi-event athletes. He has produced 14 All-Americans, six MIAA Champions and an NCAA Division II National Champion in his two years with the program.

The Hornet men placed fourth in the nation at the 2011 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships after earning a fifth place showing indoors. Blocker was the first head coach at Culver-Stockton after the program was reinstituted in 2007 after a 30 year absence. In two seasons, Blocker produced eight Heart of America Athletic Conference champions. In addition, 17 individuals and three relays claimed all-conference honors.

The ESU Pole Vault Crew will be your assistant coaches for Pole Vault Nation Camp! You will have the opportunity to work with MIAA All-Conference Performers and Div. II National Qualifiers! These talented, enthusiastic athletes will assist you with technique, runway mechanics and auxiliary exercises.
