With eight years of coaching both the mens and womens soccer programs at Concordia under his belt, Chris Gould begins his ninth year as the Eagles Director of Soccer.
The 2016 Mens Soccer Team finished second in the PacWest with a 11-5-2 overall and 10-3-0 conference record. The Women went 12-2-4 and 8-2-3 in the PacWest.
In 2015 his womens team finished third in the PacWest Conference and in 2014 the womens team advanced to its third NAIA National Championship tournament.
In his ninth season as an assistant coach for both the mens and womens teams, Cheyne Gordon serves under his former teammate in Director of Soccer Chris Gould.
Together they have won two mens GSAC Championships, two mens GSAC Tournament Championships, and one womens GSAC Championship and GSAC Tournament Championship. They advanced to the NAIA National Championship six times. They led the women to a third place finish in the PacWest in 2015.
Gordon earned his United States Soccer Federation (USSF) “B” license, and has served for the Cal South U.S. Olympic Development Program since 2009 as a scout, assistant coach and head coach.
Erik Kirsch joined the Concordia mens soccer coaching staff in April of 2015. He came most recently from Orange Lutheran High School, where he was the boys head coach since August of 2014.
Kirsch also served as the Boys U13-U18 West Coast Soccer Club coach since 2010 in Mission Viejo, CA, and led the Boys U16 and U18 Irvine Strikers Club teams from 2008 to 2010. From 1999-2001 he was the general manager and head coach of the Orange County Waves Professional Team, and in 1998 was an assistant with the Orange County Zodiac Professional Team. Kirsch was the director of the Mission Viejo Pateadores Soccer Club from 1997 to 2002.
He played collegiately at UC Irvine from 1987-1992, where he was named a Scholar-Athlete in 1990 and 1991. He earned his bachelors in social ecology in 1992. Kirsch went on to play professionally in Germany from 1993 to 1997.
Victor Nigueria joined the CUI coaching staff as the goalkeeper coach in 2015.
He tutored 2015 All-PacWest keeper Darby Clements.
From 2003-2009, he was the Assistant Director of the D.M.C.V. Sharks Soccer Club in San Diego, CA. From 2002-2004 he was the Assistant Coach of the M.I.S.L. San Diego Shockers. From 1992-2002 he was the Assistant Coach of the M.I.S.L. Milwaukee Wave and from 1995-2002 he was the Director of the Cedarburg Soccer Club in Milwaukee. From 1993-1995 he was the head coach of the Cardinal Strich soccer program in Milwaukee.
