CampWil 81 Founder and Director, Coach Lydell Wilson has worked football camps at the high school, and the University level throughout the country. The Texas State Championship winning head coach has been named Coach of the Year by the Houston Texans, the Houston Touchdown Club, and the TSWA. Many of his players have gone on to successful college and NFL careers. Coach Wilson is currently the Head Football Coach at a 6a football school in Katy, Texas.
Coach Addison has been involved coaching football for 14 years. The majority of that time has been spent coaching at the High School level. He has experience coaching the offensive side of the ball including varsity receivers, varsity linemen, and coordinating sub-varsity offense. During the most recent stages of his career, he has coached and coordinated sub-varsity defense, specializing in secondary and linebacker play. Coach Addison has worked numerous camps and is looking forward to Camp Wil 81.
Coach Ayro has been involved with coaching football for 13 years. Coach Ayro served as a graduate assistant coach at McNeese State University, help the football program win 3 straight conference championships and reaching the FCS championship game in 2002. He then went on to coach 6 years at Lamar Consolidated as an assistant linebacker coach from 2004 – 10. While at Lamar, Ayro help lead the Mustangs to winning the Division I 4A state championship in 2007. From 2010-2012 Ayro was the defensive coordinator at Lagrange High School in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Ayro now serves as the defensive coordinator at a big 6a school in Katy.
Ayro became McNeese States all-time leading tackler during his four year career and in his senior year he was named to five all-America teams. Three times he led the team in tackles and his career mark of 486 tackles and his season high of 171 tackles (1998) still stand as school records. Two straight years he was an all-SLC and all-Louisiana first team pick at linebacker and in 1998 he was named the SLC defensive player of the year and the McNeese MVP. Ayro was inducted into McNeese Hall of Fame in 2010.
Coach Koy has been involved with coaching football for 10 years. His career has spanned both the high school and collegiate ranks. Most of his coaching experience is on the offensive side of the ball having worked with Quarterbacks, Running Backs, and Wide Receivers in the past. He has also coached Defensive Backs as well. Coach Koy has worked numerous summer football camps over the years and is excited to be a part of the 2014 Camp Wil81.
Darrell R. Scurlock
Coach Scurlock has been involved in coaching football for over 20 years. His career has span both the high school and collegiate levels. Most of his experience is on the defensive side of the ball. Coach Scurlock has head coaching experience on the high school level. Coach Scurlock has worked numerous summer football camps over the years and is excited to be a part of the 2014 Camp Wil81.
Coach Matthews has been involved with coaching football for 14 years. His career has spanned boththe collegiate and high school ranks. Most of his coaching experience is on the offensive side of the ball having coached Offensive Line, Tight Ends, Wide Receivers, Runningbacks, and Quarterbacks. He hasalso coached Defensive Line and Linebackers. Coach Matthews has also had the opportunity to win a Texas State Championship with camp Director Lydell Wilson. He is excited about working with the young athletes that will be involved with the inaugural year of Camp Wil81 2014 football camp.
Matthews played Tight-End at McNeese State University and was a four year letterman. He was nominated 2 years in a row as the All – SLC Tight End and Unanimously voted as the 1999 All – Louisiana Tight End. He was recently nominated to the All Southland Conference 1990 All – Decade Football Team.
