OPEN EVENT IN NEW WINDOW

Description

The Bellarmine Summer ID Camp is a one-day event designed to give the dedicated soccer player a daylong experience into the life of a Division II soccer player.

Open to all high school boys, but will be limited to a total of 50 participants.

Campers will participate in training sessions similar to the ones that collegiate players go through and also get a chance to play small and full-sided games with tactical challenges presented by the coaching staff. Participants will benefit from interacting with both the Bellarmine coaching staff and players throughout the day.

Campers will also learn more about the college recruiting process and the specifics of Division II athletics. All training sessions and games will take place on campus at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium.

Camp Staff
The Bellarmine University staff and current and former Bellarmine University soccer players will serve as coaches, group leaders and mentors. Additional college coaches may be added to the staff if numbers necessitate. Certified athletic trainers will be on call 24 hours a day.

What to bring

All of the training and games are scheduled to take place outside at our soccer facility (Frazier Stadium) on campus. The surface of the field is turf. The majority of our players wear molded cleats on the surface, so that's what I would suggest to bring. We may also utilize our recreational center (SuRF) on campus, so all campers will need to bring indoor shoes. We will be walking around campus quite a bit so I'd suggest to also bring tennis shoes. Please be sure to bring adequate clothing as well.

In addition to the on field activities, there will be a classroom soccer tactics session, as well as information on the college recruiting process. Campers may want to bring a pen and paper to take notes.

The main training facility will be Owsley B. Fraizer stadium which hosted the NCAA Division II Men's & Women's Final Four for the second time in December of 2014.
