Bulldogs Soccer Academy Owner & Director


Bulldogs Soccer Academy was established in the winter of 2015 upon Coach Resendes hiring as Head Mens Soccer Coach at Dean College. Resendes resigned from his position as Head Coach of Dean College in November of 2016 to accept an opportunity to work full-time with the New England Revolution Youth Teams (U13-U23).



Over the past 2 years, Resendes helped lead the Dean Bulldogs to their most successful overall seasons to date. The Dean College Mens Soccer team finished the 2015 season nationally ranked, with a record of 16-1-0. The Bulldogs led the nation in numerous statistical categories and broke every school record in the book that had been in place for almost 2 decades. Following the 2015 fall season, Resendes was named NJCAA All-New England Coach of The Year. In 2016, coach Resendes led the Dean Mens Soccer program to an overall record of 17-2-0, earning an invitation to the USCAA National Tournament. Once again, the program led the nation in numerous statistical categories, and the 2016 team broke EVERY record in the book that had been set the year prior. Following the 2016 season, Coach Resendes was named Eastern MA College Coach of The Year.



Resendes wrapped up his 2 year career at Dean with an overall record of 33-3-0, setting program bests in the following: Most wins in a season, Most consecutive wins, goals scored, goals against, goals against average, & most shutouts. Resendes also coached 2 NJCAA All-Americans in 2015, as well s 4 USCAA All-Americans in 2016. His teams also saw success in the classroom, maintaining a team GPA of 3.1 over the course of 2 seasons, as well having 5 Academic All Americans.



Prior to taking over at Dean, Coach Resendes spent the 2014 college season as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Southern New Hampshire University, where they finished the season 17-1-2, winning the NE-10 conference championship for the third year in a row. During his time at SNHU, Resendes also served as the Assistant Director for Soccer Sphere and the Director of Early Development at Hampshire United Football Club.



Before making the move back to SNHU as a coach, Resendes spent the 2013 College season as an assistant with Emmanuel College in Boston, and was promoted to Associate Head Coach shortly after being brought on staff. Resendes helped lead Emmanuel to its best ever in conference record of 5-4-0, giving them a spot in the G-NAC playoffs. During his time at Emmanuel, Resendes also worked with the New England Revolution Academy, focusing on curriculum and player development as the Regional Development School Coordinator.



As a player, Coach Resendes was a four-year starting midfielder for Southern New Hampshire University from 2009-12, playing in four straight NCAA tournaments. He was a three-time NSCAA All-Region selection and garnered NSCAA All-American honors as a senior. He was a four-time NE-10 All-Conference choice, and in 2009 (freshman year) was voted Northeast-10 Rookie of the Year. His senior season, in 2012 – Resendes broke the school record for most career games played (87). Following his playing career at SNHU he played professionally in Iceland (1st Division) for one season, before starting his full-time coaching career.



Firmiano Ribeiro


Bulldogs Soccer Academy – Associate Director | Dean College Head Mens Soccer Coach


A native of Barreiras, Brazil, Firmiano Ribeiro was recently hired as Head Mens Soccer Coach at Dean College in November of 2016.



Prior to his hiring as Head Coach, Ribeiro served as an assistant on Resendes staff since January of 2016. Before joining the Dean staff, Ribeiro had been working in youth soccer development as a director and coach with various youth soccer clubs and academies throughout Connecticut over the past 5 years. Ribeiro currently serves as the Associate Director of Bulldogs Soccer Academy.



Firmiano also brings in extensive experience as a player. Growing up he had spells through a few youth academies in Brazil, for clubs such as Atletico Goianense and Goias E.C. Moving forward, Ribeiro attended NCAA division II powerhouse Franklin Pierce University, where they won an NE-10 Championship and made two Elite 8 appearances. Furthermore, Ribeiro transferred to the University of New Haven, where he earned his criminal justice degree, and concluded his collegiate career.



Adam Gabbard


Bulldogs Soccer Academy – Assistant Director | Dean College Associate Head Mens Soccer Coach


A native of North Haven, Connecticut, Coach Gabbard has spent 2 seasons on Resendes coaching staff at Dean College. Upon Coach Ribeiros hiring, Gabbard was promoted to Associate Head Coach of the Dean Mens Soccer Program.



During his playing career, Gabbard was a four-year starter for Curry College from 2009-2012, leading the Colonels to two CCC Tournament quarterfinal appearances (2009 & 2012), where he captained the side during his senior year. Upon graduation, Gabbard received a degree in Corporate Communications.



In 2013, Gabbard returned to his alma mater, Curry College, as an assistant coach. During his time on staff, he helped lead the Colonels to their 3rd consecutive CCC quarterfinal appearance in four years (2013 & 2014). Following the conference tournament in 2014, the Colonels earned a bid to the ECAC Division III Tournament as the #6 seed, and advanced to the Semifinals where they fell to the #1 seed 4-3 in OT.



Gabbard also currently serves as a Staff Coach for the New England Revolution Academy and as Assistant Director for Bulldogs Soccer Academy.



Dave Walsh


Bulldogs Soccer Academy – Director of Goalkeeping | Dean College Assistant Soccer Coach


Coach Walsh brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the BSA and Dean Mens Soccer staff having been in the game for over 30 years. He currently serves as an assistant coach on the Dean Mens Soccer staff as well as the Director of Goalkeeping with Bulldogs Soccer Academy. This past season marks Coach Walshs 5th year with the mens soccer program at Dean College.



Coach Walsh also currently serves as the Director of Goal Keeping for New England Futbol Club in Rhode Island. Coach Walsh played 4 years of college soccer at Barrington College as a goalkeeper and was selected to the National Christian Conference All American Team. Walsh was also an All New England selection and holds shutouts for career and single season records. He was voted MVP his junior and senior years.



Following his college playing career, he went on to play professional soccer in Ireland for 2nd div. Queen City Rovers. He also has professional playing experience in the NASL and Major Indoor Soccer League. Following his professional career, Coach Walsh played 10 years of semi-pro in the well-known, local LASA league.



Coach Walsh has been a Division 1 mens college soccer referee for 10 years and coached at numerous high schools and club teams in RI. He has a BA in American Studies and Master of Arts from Canterbury University. Coach Walsh also holds a USSF C license and an NSCAA Goalkeeping Level III Diploma. Coach Walsh currently resides in Rumford, RI – with his wife Helen and son Connor.
