Bemidji State Soccer earns first NCAA Tournament bid in program history

The Bemidji State University soccer team has earned an at-large bid into the 2017 NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Championships and will play Augustana University in the first round of the Central Regional Tournament. Bemidji State'sSoccer sweeps NSIC Individual Awards

The Bemijdi State University soccer team swept the 2017 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference individual awards announced today by the league office. Rachael Norton was named Offensive Player of the Year, Miranda Famestad was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year, Catherine Arneson earned Goaltender of the Year, Allyson Smith got the Freshman of the Year nod and Jim Stone was named Coach of the Year. Achievements as a program this past year:

  • Undefeated regular season at 14-0-3
  • Made a run of five straight weeks ranked in the top 20 of the United Soccer Coaches national poll, including a No. 14 nod the final week of the regular season
  • BSU finished second in the NSIC with a 12-0-3 mark and made its ninth straight appearance in the NSIC Tournament
  • Earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history
  • Finished the season with a 15-1-4 record, top 5 in country as best record.
  • Swept NSIC Post-Season awards: Offensive player of the year, Defensive player of the year, Rookie of the year, Goalkeeper of the Year, & Coach of the Year
  • 1 First-team Academic All-American (CoSIDA)
  • 3 Scholar All-Americans (United Soccer Coaches)
  • 1 First team All-American (CCA)
  • 5 All Central Region Selections (United Soccer Coaches)
