Bethany College Special Events

The Bethany College Athletic Camps and Leagues are an opportunity for the community to engage with Swedes coaching staff and student-athletes.

 

Participants will not only learn and develop the fundamentals of their respective sport, but also develop key character traits including integrity, commitment, and perseverance. Swedes Camps and Leagues guide participants to maintain healthy lifestyles while leading lives of faith, learning, and service. Join us…we are the Swedes!

Description

Dala Camerata is a chamber music camp for high school and middle school string students. A group of students may enroll as an ensemble, or individual students may enroll and be placed in an ensemble. 

 

General Information

 

Daily Schedule:
Rehearsals are scheduled from 12:30pm-3:30pm each day of the camp except Friday. Time will be given for each small ensemble to rehearse with a coach and independently each day. All of the ensembles will join together to create the Dala Camerata Chamber Orchestra and enjoy performances by the faculty quartet each day. The camp will conclude with a performance on Friday, location TBD.

 

Ages: Grades: 7-12
Middle school and high school string players, who are interested in being a member of a trio, quartet, or quintet, should attend Dala Camerata! Students should be able to comfortably read and play Grade 2.5 orchestra literature at a minimum.

 

Times: 12:30pm- 3:30pm

 

Cost: $70.00
Camp tuition covers the cost of instructors, a T-shirt, music, and a daily treat!

Facility:
Dala Camerata rehearsals and coaching sessions are held in Presser Hall on the Bethany College campus. The final concert on Friday will be held at Bethany Home for the residents. Family and friends are invited to attend!
