Bakken named to All-NESCAC men's soccer team

Bates College junior captain Peder Bakkenwas named Second Team All-NESCAC on Thursday, as the New England Small College Athletic Conference released its all-conference teams in men's soccer. Bakken (Seattle, Wash.) led the Bobcats in points this season with 11, scoring a team-high four goals and finishing tied for the team lead in assists with three. Read More

     

Merchant receives Scholar All-America Honors

Bates College senior Nate Merchant, already the recipient of a litany of postseason honors for his senior season on the Bates men's soccer team, was recognized for his academic excellence as well on Friday, as he was named a Second Team forward on the United Soccer Coaches' NCAA Division III Men's Scholar All-America Teams.

Bobcat Men’s Soccer Camps provide tactical and technical instruction in a positive atmosphere to maximize development for players.

 

Campers learn from a dedicated and professional camp staff led by Bates College coaches. We pride ourselves on teaching soccer to players of all ages and ability levels from Youth Summer Camps and Clinics to Elite College ID Camps.

 

We offer a variety of camps throughout the year to players and ages of all levels, but if you do not see a camp that fits your need please check back as we add camps and clinics.

Description

Bates College Men's Soccer is proud to announce our 2019 Summer Identification Camps.  These camps are for prospective male college players (High School grades 9-12) looking for an elite education and soccer experience.  Campers will be offered technical sessions, tactical sessions and game action where they will have the opportunity to be seen by Bates staff and other college coaches.  Bates players identified at past camps include 2018 All-NESCAC midfielder Peder Bakken (Seattle, WA) and 2017 All-NESCAC striker Nathan Merchant (Los Angeles, CA).  Bates Camp Alumni include recent MLS first-round draft pick Wyatt Omsberg of Minnesota United FC and Seb Blickman (Bucknell starter and 2014 Patriot League Tournament MVP).  Other former attendees are currently playing at Southern New Hampshire, Franklin-Pierce, Fordham, Bryant, Gettysburg, Williams and Amherst among other schools. 

 

Camp Includes:

  • Coach Evaluation via personal email 48 hours after camp conclusion
  • 11v11 games uploaded to private YouTube channel for players to make highlights

What to bring: Players should bring cleats, shin guards, indoor shoes, socks and shorts. Goalkeepers should bring their own gloves.

Bates is located about three miles from the Maine Turnpike (I-95).

 

Northbound travelers
Take Exit 80 (Maine Turnpike Lewiston exit) and turn left onto Alfred A. Plourde Parkway at the stop sign at the end of the off ramp.

 

Southbound travelers
Take Exit 80 (Maine Turnpike Lewiston exit) and bear right onto Plourde Parkway.

What if I have to cancel a camp? 

We do not offer any refunds for canceled campers.  However, we can provide a future Bates camp credit if you decide to cancel before 7 days prior to the start of camp.  If you cancel within 7 days prior to the start of camp then we cannot guarantee you a future Bates camp credit per the planning necessary to provide a positive camp experience
